Hello everyone!

I hope you are all doing well and had a terrific Summer! We celebrated Lyla’s first birthday on July 27th!! I still can’t believe we have a one-year-old! I will be posting the party details in a separate blog post so be on the lookout for that! Today, I wanted to share her 12-month update. This will be the last one for a while. I plan to start doing them yearly from now on. I feel like every time I look at Lyla she is doing something new. It’s been an exciting time and as chaotic as life gets, I’m trying to remember to embrace the craziness of it all because I know it won’t be like this forever.

Ten months… it’s so crazy saying that! That’s how old our Lyla Brooke is now! Her 10-month was extra special because it was also my birthday 🙂. I love that we share the same day and Kent and her share the same month. Time sure is flying, but Kent and I love watching our girl grow! She’s Lyla the explorer and has no problem showing Mom and Dad how independent she is! 😉 So let’s just dive into all the fun and exciting things she’s been up to this month!

Wow, I can’t believe I’m writing Lyla’s 9-month update! It’s wild how fast time is going. Lyla is getting SO big! Her daycare workers and I were just reminiscing the other day about how when Lyla was a newborn, she’d curl up into a little ball on our chests and fall asleep. Now, she’s so long that she takes up most of my chest/torso if she lays on me. Sometimes I miss the newborn stage and all the sweet cuddles, but I’m also enjoying the new stage we’re in. Lyla’s little personality is starting to flourish and she is full-on mobile these days. One thing that hasn’t changed so much is her hair, haha. It’s still crazy as ever, just a lot lighter than when she was a newborn. Her daycare workers tell us it reminds them of a dandelion when it blows in the wind 🙂.

I hope everyone is doing well. It’s a rainy gloomy day outside so I thought I’d finally sit down and catch up on some blog stuff! That is if Lyla allows for it. 🙂 The 6-month mark hit differently. I realized that she was halfway to her first birthday which is insane to me! It feels like just yesterday we were bringing her home. Anyway, I’ve got lots to update you guys on so let’s go ahead and jump into it!

I hope you are all doing well. Obviously, as you can tell by the date of this that I’m very behind on Lyla’s 5-month update. Between the holidays and our family being sick, I had to put my blog on the back burner. However, my goal is to get back on track this year and create more consistent content. With that being said, Lyla is doing exceptionally well!

Our Lyla Brooke is 3 months old! Time sure is flying and I’m trying to savor these moments as they come. Time is a thief, and I hate how quickly our baby girl grows up. On the flip side, I’ve loved watching her reach new milestones with each passing month.

Lyla turned 2 months old yesterday! I can hardly believe it’s been that long already! It feels like just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital. Our little girl is thriving though! Last Monday, she started daycare and she’s been doing amazing! On the other hand, I was crying before we even left the house. Thankfully, they sent pictures throughout the day, which helped A LOT! Her daycare teachers are wonderful and they told us that they’ve never seen an 8-week-old smile so much. This makes my mama's heart so happy!
