Life With Lyla: Week Two
Hey friends!
I hope you are all doing well! Another week has passed with our sweet girl! Kent and I are learning fast how to survive on little to no sleep. Lots of caffeine for him, and don’t ask me how I’m surviving because I literally have no idea! Haha! I wish I were a coffee drinker in times like these, but I’ve never been fond of the taste. However, I’ve managed to power through sleep deprivation. I might be half asleep while showering or nodding off during a feeding session, but I know she will only be this little for so long so I am trying to soak up every minute of it.
Life With Lyla: Week One

Our little girl, Lyla graced us with her presence on July 27th, 2022. I'm planning on doing a blog post on my labor and delivery soon, but in the meantime, I thought it would be fun to share my new series: Life With Lyla. As Kent and I are quickly finding out, babies grow quickly! Lyla does something new every day! In one short week, we found out so much about our little girl and even have a few good stories to share that I’m sure other parents can relate to! With that being said, let’s dive into week one of Life With Lyla! :)
2022 Summer House Tour

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted on here. Life has gotten busier that’s for sure as we anxiously await the arrival of baby girl! :) Thankfully, I was able to do a little Summer refresh in our home before she makes her grand arrival! For this year’s theme, I was really drawn to yellow and teal for a color scheme. You’re going to see lots of sunflowers, lemons, and all the bright, sunny vibes this season entails! I hope this post brings some sunshine and sparkle to your day as we finish out the rest of this season! :)

When will my breakthrough come?
Have you ever asked yourself this? This is a question I’ve found myself asking more and more lately. As humans, we all have dreams and hopes for our lives. Whether that be starting a new career, moving to a new place, starting a family, etc. Our dreams and hopes are what make life exciting. God puts these dreams and visions into our hearts for a reason, am I right? He wants to give us all these good things. However, as you and I both know, His timing doesn’t always align with our timing. It can be hard to wait. At times it even might feel like our “journey” is never-ending.
Second Trimester Recap

How are you doing? I’m officially in my third trimester! Yay! We have less than 12 weeks to go which both excites me and makes me nervous. We’ve made a lot of preparations for baby girl, but I still feel like there is so much left to do! And let’s be honest, no parents to be are ever 100% ready. It will be a huge adjustment and take time to establish new routines. However, I’m so excited to meet our little girl and I can’t wait to hold her! :)

Spring Cleaning Checklist

Second Ultrasound | It’s a Girl!

I hope you are all having a good start to your week! If you have been following along on social media or saw my Gender Reveal Video, then you know Kent and I are expecting a baby girl! We had our second ultrasound on March 4th, and it was amazing to see how much she’s grown! Throughout the whole appointment, she remained positioned on her side, which made it difficult for the ultrasound tech to get clear pictures of her spine and kidneys. However, from what she could see everything looked healthy! Our little girl was also a little camera shy on this day and kept putting her hands and feet up by her face. Our ultrasound tech was able to get a couple of face pictures, but she was using my placenta as a pillow so we could only see about half of her :) At one point, I was nervous we weren’t going to be able to find out the gender since she kept moving her legs up, but luckily she moved enough for us to get a clear picture.

I also tried out a fun recipe I found on Pinterest that I thought I’d share with you guys! When it comes to the holidays or fun events, you all know I love to decorate my home, but I also enjoy celebrating by making themed treats. St. Patty’s day is no exception! This year, I didn’t have a lot of time on my hands so I wanted to do something that was going to be easy, but delicious too! 2022 St. Patrick’s Day House Tour

Happy first day of March! We had a gorgeous day here in Nebraska! It literally felt like Spring! Today, I’m hopping on here to share my 2022 St. Patrick’s Day Decor! I picked up a couple of new items to decorate the fireplace with, but most of the decor is from last year. Our First Ultrasound

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Kent and I were fortunate to have Monday off in honor of MLK Day, so we spent the day shopping for a few home items and binge-watching a Netflix show. Have you guys watched Archive 81 yet? If you like mystery thrillers, it’s worth giving it a watch. It was a little hard to follow at times, but I thought it was good overall. Kent and I love these mysteries because we enjoy coming up with our predictions on how we think the show will play out. We enjoy seeing if our predictions are spot on or if we're completely wrong, haha.
How I Told Kent About The Baby

Happy Friday! How are you all doing? Aside from the waves of tiredness that pregnancy has brought on, I’m doing okay. Today, I wanted to take a moment and share how I told Kent about the baby. If you watched our reaction video, then you’ll know that I didn’t film Kent’s reaction. I did this for a couple of reasons. One, I had a feeling if I pulled out my camera that he would know immediately something was up. Two, the more I thought about it, I really wanted that moment to be an intimate moment between the two of us. After all, it is our first baby and a special time. I wanted to take it all in without focusing on recording.
We’re Pregnant!
The day was November 17th, 2021. It was a Wednesday, and I remember sitting at work preoccupied with my thoughts. I couldn’t focus on anything except that my period hadn’t come. My cycle has always been regular. Could it be? Is this the month? We’ve only been trying for a few months. Am I sure I’m ready to be a mom? All of these thoughts anxiously crept into my mind as I waited for 5 o’clock to come.
