Second Trimester Recap
Hey friends!
How are you doing? I’m officially in my third trimester! Yay! We have less than 12 weeks to go which both excites me and makes me nervous. We’ve made a lot of preparations for baby girl, but I still feel like there is so much left to do! And let’s be honest, no parents to be are ever 100% ready. It will be a huge adjustment and take time to establish new routines. However, I’m so excited to meet our little girl and I can’t wait to hold her! :)
I’ve been fortunate to have an easy pregnancy so far. I guess this is how our bodies trick us into having more! Haha! Truly, I am blessed to be healthy and that baby girl has been healthy too. During my second trimester, some of the symptoms I experienced were mainly aches and pains. As my bump has grown, I’ve started feeling some hip and lower back pain. Yoga has helped a little bit with this. I’ve found some great prenatal yoga videos on YouTube! I would highly recommend giving them a shot if you are dealing with any sciatic pain. Sleep has had its challenges. Due to my growing bump, I’ve found it difficult getting comfortable and when it comes to switching positions, I literally feel like I have to lift my bump to turn from one side to the other. I’ve also found that bending down or over is no longer as easy as it used to be! It literally feels like I have a brick inside of my belly! Another thing I’ve noticed recently are charley horses! They aren’t super frequent, but I’ve had some here and there that have been rather annoying.
Other than that, I really can’t complain. Pregnancy has been good to me. I passed my gestational diabetes test and have been feeling baby girl moving and grooving a lot more. Feeling her move is hands down my favorite part of pregnancy. It feels like I have a little buddy with me all day long :) I have a feeling this little girl will be a music lover like myself. Anytime I sing or there is music at church, she’s happily kicking away! It’s safe to say I’ve already introduced her to the greatest song of all time (Iris-Goo Goo Dolls). Although, I will not be surprised if Kent plays some Tupac for her in the near future ;)
I had a checkup last week and found out she was in a breech position. That would explain some of the low kicks I’ve been feeling. However, I’m only 29 weeks so she’s still got plenty of time to flip. I’m crossing my fingers she turns around so I don’t have to do a c-section, but we’ll see what happens. No matter what happens, I just pray for a safe and healthy delivery. That’s about all the updates I have for right now. I’m excited to see what this next trimester brings, and it’s crazy to think that in just a couple of months she will be here! I can hardly wait!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I will talk to you guys soon!
Love, Brandi
