First Trimester Recap

Hey friends!

I can’t believe January is almost over! Does anyone else feel like this month flew by? As we move into February, I wanted to take a moment and do a recap of my first trimester. Every pregnancy is different and I feel very fortunate that my first trimester was fairly easy. I didn’t experience any morning sickness nor did I ever have any food aversions or cravings. For the most part, I’ve eaten almost the same as I did before getting pregnant. Maybe the cravings will come later? Mama’s comment down below if you had cravings or if they showed up later in the pregnancy. I always hear stories of crazy things women crave when they’re pregnant. Kent told me a story of a girl he used to work with that craved blocks of cream cheese. Like literally just cream cheese. How crazy is that?! In my case, I haven’t felt a strong craving for anything specific. I’ve eaten a lot of pizza during this pregnancy, but I like pizza pregnant or not so who knows if that’s a craving or not, haha :)

Some symptoms I have experienced are tender breasts. They’ve also doubled in size much to my dismay. It literally feels like I have melons for boobs right now. I’m hoping they will go down a little afterward, but we’ll see. It’s definitely one of the more annoying symptoms in my opinion. Another thing I experienced during my first trimester was constant fatigue. This was hard to deal with for someone like me who usually is always on the move. By the time I got home from work all I wanted to do was change into my jammies and crawl in bed. Thankfully, as I’ve moved into my second trimester I am starting to feel some of my energy coming back. However, my mama friends tell me that the fatigue comes back during the third trimester (yay…) so I’m trying to get as many things as I can checked off my to-do list while I still have the energy to do so.

As far as weight gain goes, I’ve gained 13 pounds! I had a check up last week and I couldn’t believe the number I saw on the scale! Baby is growing and is about the size of a pear right now. I’ve definitely noticed my body changing too. My pants have started to feel more snug and uncomfortable so I did end up buying a couple pairs of maternity jeans and a pair of slacks for work. I’ve got to tell you though, as a working mama to be, they do not have crap for maternity clothes in store where I live. I was very disappointed when I went to go look. Thankfully, since baby will be born in the summer I can wear dresses once it starts getting warmer out. If any of you have any store recommendations for maternity clothes, let me know in the comments below! This mama needs all the help she can get! Haha. I’ve also noticed that my bump has “popped” and I finally feel like I’m getting to the “cute” stage of pregnancy.

Anyway, that is all I have for you guys right now. I hope you enjoyed reading this recap of how my first trimester went. Again, if any of you have any advice or recommendations please feel free to drop a comment down below! :)

Thanks for reading! :)

Love, Brandi
