Stairwell Decor

Hi loves!

I hope you are all doing well! Today, I wanted to pop on here and share how I decorated this small ledge in our stairwell. For those who don't know my husband and I purchased our first home last October, we have been gradually starting to decorate and spruce up the place.

For the ledge, I knew I wanted something that would catch people's attention as they walked down the stairs into our basement. I wanted the piece to be warm and inviting. Right, when we first moved into the house, I was already thinking about where I wanted to hang some of our wedding photos. We had one picture that we had framed around a white poster board that all of our guests had signed the day of the wedding. As we were looking for a spot for it, my husband suggested we put it on the ledge. I wasn't convinced, but once we set it up against the wall, my creative juices started to flow.

To help make it stand out a little more, I decided against centering it and instead created a beautiful floral arrangement with our wedding colors that we could place beside it—all of the supplies I found at Hobby Lobby. I chose a deep dark purple flower and surrounded it with some dusty lavender-colored leaves for the florals. I also added some silver beaded picks to add a touch of elegance. I placed it all in a cylinder vase that had silver around the bottom.

I am thrilled with how it turned out! I think it elevates the space and is an excellent reminder of our special day :) Eventually, I would like to add some soft, upward shining lights to make the display more cozy and romantic. However, we haven't figured out what lights we want or how we install them in that area.
