2020 Summer Home Decor
Hi loves,
I don't know about all of you, but these last few days have been rough. To keep my spirits up, I've been trying to set aside some time to do the things that fill my heart with joy. Therefore, I decided to hop on here to say hello and share my 2020 Summer home decor! Keep on reading to see how I brightened up my home this season!
When looking for Summer decor, I knew I wanted to include faux sunflowers and roses into my theme. I cannot tell you enough how much I LOVE this combination! I regret not using it for my wedding theme, but I am excited to incorporate it into my home decor this season. I was also on the hunt for anything that had lemons or a tropical vibe to it.
I went shopping with my mom, and the first place we stopped at was Big Lots. I didn't find a lot of pieces, but I found these fun, lemon print plates, and fruit coasters. The dishes were on clearance, and the coasters were only $5, so I couldn't pass them up. I wasn't quite sure how I wanted to display them, but I ended up taking a sign holder that I had from my wedding and used it to prop the plates up. Then, I just placed the coasters around it. It's not typically how I would decorate this spot in my kitchen, but it's different, and it seems to have worked so far!
We headed over to Michaels next, and the first thing I noticed when I walked in was these gorgeous sunflower/rose bouquets and the best part about them? They were on clearance! I think I paid $3 each for them. Since they were smaller bouquets, I picked up a couple of smaller vases that were also on clearance and arranged them to my liking. I used one of them for my kitchen table centerpiece and the other for the coffee table in our living room. I love how the color combo brightens up our home.
After we left Michaels, we hit up At home (one of my favs!), and I found this beautiful sunflower wreath. It was exactly what I was looking for, and I was so excited to hang it on our red door! It looks fantastic and brings a smile to my face every day when I pull up to our driveway.
I like to change up our garden flags every holiday/season, so I was excited when I found this sunflower print one at At Home.
At the Dollar Tree, I was able to find a lot of cute items and spent under $10 for all of it. I picked up some more sunflower bouquets. These were a little different than the ones I found at Michaels. I liked that some of the sunflowers had red markings on them. I also picked up the clear vase to put them in and used this as a centerpiece for the table down in our family room. I was able to find one of my kitchen towels here, too (pictured on the right). My "Hello Summer" sign that I placed on the inside door was also found at the Dollar Tree. My mother had found it a couple of weeks prior and picked one up for me.
The last place I looked for decor at was Hobby Lobby (another fav of mine). A lot of their summer decor was on sale, so I was able to find some great deals. The first thing I picked up was a set of bathroom towels. One of them had a pineapple on it, and I thought they would add a playful touch to our master bathroom.
The lemon print pillow (pictured above) was half off, and so I bought it to place downstairs in our family room to add some more pops of color down there.
The last thing I purchased at Hobby Lobby was this floral sign. I loved the message on it and even though it wasn't precisely "summer decor," I thought it would be a lovely addition to the kitchen :)
That is it, my loves! I'm hoping this post gave you some inspiration or helped you with ideas if you are struggling with how to decorate your home this summer. I hope you are doing well and that this post brightened up your day :) Let me know in the comments what colors you're drawn to this season.
Love, Brandi
