Pumpkin Patch Adventures
Hey friends!
I hope you are having a beautiful weekend! Kent and I have an exciting but busy weekend planned. We have a couple of birthdays we are celebrating and a baby shower! Lots of exciting stuff is happening around here. A couple of weeks ago, Kent and I made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. We typically like to go at night because we enjoy going through all the haunted attractions, but the wait times are brutal. This year we decided to go during the day, and we had a great time!
We started by walking around and looking at all the decorations. They always do such a good job, and I can only imagine how much time and effort goes into setting up each display. Right where you first walk in, they have a Halloween-themed carriage that resembles the carriage from Cinderella. I did not recall seeing this previously, but it was so cool!
Most of their daytime activities do not involve spooky things, but they did have a couple of smaller haunted houses that visitors could walk in. These attractions are usually pretty mild and do not include any actors. So if you would rather someone not jump out and scare you, then I would try these out instead :) Next to the haunted houses was a small petting zoo. We did not go in, but we saw goats (and baby goats!), chickens, and rabbits. They had all sorts of activities for kids. There was a zombie shoot, train rides, potato sack slides, and much more. I was amazed at how much they had. I don’t remember them having as many when I was little.
We ventured over to Pumpkinland, which consists of a gazebo that has pumpkins everywhere! We had a little photo shoot where I lived out my Nightmare Before Christmas fantasy and became the pumpkin queen! ;) Afterwards, we headed over to the Candyland display, which, of course, required another photoshoot, haha. As a child, my favorite board game was Candyland, and my nickname was Brandi Candy, so I’ve always jokingly claimed ownership over Candyland. Nearby was a sunflower field, and since we didn’t make it out to the other one we were supposed to go to in August, I thought it would be fun to walk through. However, we found out we weren’t supposed to be in there, so I was unable to get a picture :(
One of our many traditions at the pumpkin patch is buying homemade jam and a funnel cake. This year was no different. The funnel cake was delicious as always, and then we picked up some strawberry jam to bring home. We also picked out a variety of pumpkins for carving/painting. I also decided to get a few white pumpkins to decorate our front porch.
Overall, the pumpkin patch did not disappoint and is always one of my favorite things to do in the Fall! If you would like to see more of our time there, you can watch the video here.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Let me know in the comments what your favorite fall tradition is!
Thanks for reading :)
Love, Brandi
