Pumpkin Painting: Cruella De Vil
Hello friends!
I hope you are all having a beautiful start to your week. One of my favorite activities to do in the Fall is to paint pumpkins! I enjoy carving pumpkins too, but I find painting to be therapeutic. Plus I love coming up with a different idea every year. As you can probably guess by the title, this year I created a Cruella-inspired pumpkin! I loved 101 Dalmations as a child, and the new Cruella movie is just as good!
For the last couple of years, I have painted pumpkins inspired by Disney princesses. Last year I did Cinderella and the year before I did Belle. However, I thought it would be fun to switch things up and do one of the villains. To recreate this look you are going to need the following supplies:
white & black paint
red ribbon or tulle
red rhinestones
white & black feathers
hot glue gun
To start you are going to want to paint the whole pumpkin white. Next, you will use some black paint to make the spots so it resembles the dalmation. Once the paint has dried you will take some of the black feathers and hot glue them around one side of the pumpkin. I did have to layer the feathers on top of each other to provide a fuller look. You will do the same on the other side with the white feathers. Then you will take your red rhinestones and stick them around the entire pumpkin. Lastly, take some red ribbon (I used red deco mesh) and create a bow in front of the pumpkin stem to make it less noticeable. Since red is Cruella’s signature color, I thought adding pops of it on the pumpkin would help tie the whole look together.
I hope this post inspires you to paint a pumpkin of your own. If you are painting one this year, let me know in the comments what you’ll be doing to yours. Also, if you decide to recreate this look don’t forget to tag me over on Instagram @aprettylittlesparkle.
P.S. Can anyone guess what Kent’s pumpkin is? (Hint: Think Star Wars!)
Thank you for reading.
