Let’s Get Spooky! | Halloween Decor
Hey loves!
Today, I am very excited to be sharing my Halloween Decor with you! Halloween is my FAVORITE to decorate. I love to go all out and probably would have done a lot more if my wallet would have allowed it. Anyways, let's go ahead and jump right in with the decorations!
Starting in the bedroom, I added a few pieces that I felt helped elevate the room but still went with our theme. As you can see in the pictures, we have black and gray in our bedroom, which made this space very easy to decorate for Halloween. I purchased the red skull throw pillow from At Home and loved how it gave the room a pop of color. I also swapped out the fall florals for some florals that were darker and spooky. Here you can see, I added black roses with some sparkly red picks. If you look closely, you can see that the black roses have miniature skulls on them. I thought this was a cute detail. Overall, I love how this turned out and, the sparkly red picks remind me of blood and, I love how they tie in with the throw pillow. Over on our dresser, I added this small metallic jack-o-lantern that I found at Walmart. I love it because it's a candle holder. I bought some Halloween tea lights to go in it, so at night we turn them on and, it helps give the room a warm, eerie feel to it.
In the bathroom, I added in some festive hand towels. I believe I found these at Target. I also added in this light-up candle that I got years ago from my mom. It's hard to see in the picture, but the candle has little bats on it. I'm hoping to add some shelves in here soon so I can have more room to play around with decor.
My office is still coming together, but when I decorate for the holidays, I've been trying to add small pieces in here to help make the area feel festive. Here you'll see I added this pirate skull to the bottom of our plant stand and, then I also added this adorable pumpkin that I received from my mother-in-law to my desk. I love how both these pieces are simple, yet they make it feel like Halloween.
The dining room table always has a centerpiece. Usually, I do florals and, that's what I decided to do again for Halloween. I wanted the area to look spooky, so I opted for black and red as I had done in the bedroom. I found all of these florals and the picks at Walmart for only $0.99! If you are looking to add florals to your home, I highly recommend checking out your local Walmart and Dollar Tree. They always have the best stuff at an affordable price. Over on the side of the pantry, I added this sign I found at the Dollar Tree that says, "Beware of ghosts!".
In the kitchen, I have the traditional black and orange theme going on. The corner by the sink I added in this ceramic orange and black pumpkin that I found at Hobby Lobby with this cute sign I found from At Home. I also added in the cauldron candy dish (filled with Reese's peanut butter cups per my husband's request) to help balance out the area. The candy dish was found at the Target dollar spot for $3. I placed the black "spooky" sign on the handle to the pantry. On the counter, I found these black candles at Spirit of Halloween and, the neat thing about them is they are bleeding candles. When you light them, they are supposed to drip red-colored wax. We haven't lighted them yet because we are waiting until Halloween, but I can't wait to try them out! Between the candles, I placed these small signs that had different Halloween sayings on them. The first one says, "Welcome to our haunted house", the middle one has the date, and then the last one says, "No tricks, just treats". Then, to add in the spooky element, I put these black spiders on both sides. These came in a pack of 6 and, I found them at Michaels. Lastly, on the stove, I swapped out the hand towels for these I found at Target. On the top, I added these plastic cups I found at the Dollar Tree. I thought they looked cool with the skeleton hand wrapped around them. I also placed another spider over here for a creepy effect. It seems to be working too because my mom shared with me that she is not a fan of all the spiders! ;)
Our living room probably has the most decorations in the house. On the coffee table, I filled my serving tray up with these cool pumpkins that were covered in a black netting material. I also added in more spiders (sorry mom lol) to help break up all the black that was going on. In the center, I placed my glass pumpkin candy dish and added in all my favorite candy. On the side table, I added this spooky looking black tree that I found from At Home and placed a spider beside it. The tree went perfectly with this wreath that I found from At Home that says, "Happy Halloween". This is one of my favorite purchases from this year. I also placed this felt pumpkin in our window and added some window stickers too. This is not something I normally do, but I liked the colors and thought it added a little something extra to the pumpkin sign. On the doorknobs to our front door and the one leading out to the garage, I put these Halloween bells on them. These were gifted to me by my mother. Since this room has a lot more vibrant colors, I decided to place this other sign of mine that has a line of pumpkins and then a bat on the bottom on the door leading out to our garage to help tie everything together. Over by the stairs, I decided to do something fun and got this fake cobweb and spread it across the railing. I also bought this felt sign that reads "Happy Halloween" and put that over it along with a few eight-legged friends. The last thing I did in this room was over on our TV stand I added a Halloween candle I purchased from Bath and Body Works. This one is called "Vampire Blood" and smells amazing! On the opposite side, I placed the stacked Halloween books and then put a light-up skull in the middle. I also draped some purple lights around all of it.
Outside, we have plans to add some tombstones to our front yard. They are pretty lightweight so we decided to hold off on putting them out until it gets a little closer to Halloween. We also plan on purchasing a projector to put outside to display spooky images on our garage door. However, I did put up my Halloween garden flag which, you can see in the picture below. I also purchased this wreath I found at Home Depot. I ordered this wreath online and did not look at the dimensions. It's huge! I was able to make it work, but it was a lot bigger than expected. I liked this one in particular because it was red and black so it matched a lot of my other decor and, if you look closely, you can see some spiders weaved into it. I also placed this doormat that reads "Enter if you dare" right inside the front door and, I love that the colors in it match the wreath so, it ties everything together.
Lastly, down in the basement, I purchased some new throw pillows for our couch down there and also put together this fun floral arrangement. Since the pillows have some purple and orange in them, I decided I was going to add those colors to this arrangement. I purchased the orange leaves and purple picks and put them in with the black roses. I'll be honest, at first I wasn't sure if I liked how it looked, but once I put it on the coffee table and backed away to look at the space as a whole, I started to like it a lot more (Tip: If you're unsure of something, step back to see how it looks with the rest of your decor). To top it all off, I found these skeletons of a bride and groom at Michaels and placed them on the ledge behind the couch. I thought it was the perfect space for them, and it makes it look like they are watching tv with us.
That is everything I have for my Halloween Decor! I hope you all enjoyed this post and got some inspiration for it. Let me know in the comments what you are doing for Halloween this year and if you are dressing up. I love hearing how creative people get when it comes to their costumes! I hope you are all doing well and stay tuned for my next post about our trip to the pumpkin patch! :)
Love, Brandi
