Cycle 4 Decorations

“When life gives you Monday, dip it in glitter and sparkle all day!”

Hey friends!

How was everyone’s weekend? Kent and I took it easy and just relaxed around the house. May was a busy month for us, so we appreciated the downtime.

Today I am excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at how my branch decorated our new promotional gift that customers receive when they open a new checking account. We are giving away a portable speaker in this cycle, so I thought, why not do a concert theme? My vision included a stage, a merchandise area, and a Meet & Greet.

When I think of how concerts are set up, there is usually a designated area to buy the band’s merchandise, specifically band tees. So I decided it would be cool if we made our own. All we did was we picked up a couple of shirts from Hobby Lobby, tie-dyed them, and used sticker letters for the bank’s abbreviations. It was simple and got the job done. However, if you own a Cricut machine, you could get real fancy with the design if you wanted something more elaborate.

You’ll notice on the table with the t-shirts that we have an inflatable cooler holding drinks. My co-worker actually spotted this at Party America, and it was the perfect addition to this spot!

On the opposite side of the lobby, we have ample open space. This was the ideal spot to create our stage. We placed some streamers and cut out stars on the window to make our backdrop. We also had these cardboard cutouts of Kanye West and Taylor Swift from a few years ago when we recreated the VMAS for one of our gifts. We decided to throw them in last-minute since they went with this theme too. For the stage itself, I came up with the idea of taking some of the folding tables we use for events and stacking them on top of each other to give the area more height. I then covered them with a black table cloth and put a few folding chairs around them to represent the seats in the stadium.

Along with the inflatable cooler, we also bought some inflatable instruments from Party America that we placed around the stage. We even found mini strobe lights that we put on the front corners of the stage to make it look more realistic. Another co-worker of mine took one of our easels and lowered it to make it look like a mic stand. I think it turned out really great! I was pleased with how it turned out.

Next to the stage were our “Will Call” tickets. I came up with the idea that anytime someone opened a checking account this cycle, they could grab one of the tickets for an extra prize. This was very easy to make. I just grabbed a poster board and then went to Canva to design the tickets. Once I was done, I just taped everything onto the board and placed it on the window sill next to the stage.

The last spot we decorated was my desk. Since I’m the one that opens new accounts, we thought it would be a fantastic idea to have my area as the “meet and greet.” My co-worker Chase really helped me out in this area. I was unsure of how to bring my vision to life, but he took some of our lawn chairs closed up and spaced them around my desk. We then wrapped red ribbon around them to make it look like a red velvet rope. Since it was the “Meet & Greet” area, we wanted it to feel extra special, sort of like if you had a VIP package for a concert that included a meet & greet with the band. I still have no idea how he got them to remain to stand, but it worked, and it turned out better than I could have imagined!

We were lucky enough to even have a performance on our stage! Check out my IGTV for more details on that! ;)

I hope you all enjoyed this post and got some fun ideas out of it. Let me know in the comments which area you liked best! :)

Take care,

Love, Brandi
