4th of July Decor

Hey loves!

Today, on the blog, I am sharing how I decorated our home for the 4th! My husband loves the 4th of July, and so I wanted to make our house look extra special (and sparkly). I began by picking out some small flags for our front yard that I found at Home Depot. They were super inexpensive and were perfect to line the yard with, and you can find these pretty much anywhere this time of year. I also picked up a couple of windmills to go along with our Mickey garden flag that I found at Hobby Lobby, which made me very excited. For those that don't know, I am a Disney fanatic! So, if it's got Disney on it, there's a sure chance I'm going to buy it ;). I loved how these items were simple but added some color to the front yard.

Moving on to the front door, my husband and I recently painted our door a bright cherry red, and I am obsessed! I found this gorgeous wreath at Michaels on a 40% discount. It instantly made the door "pop" and made our home feel extra patriotic.

I also picked up this beautiful star wreath that I found at Walmart to go on the inside of our door. It was very affordable and of good quality. Tip: If you are on a budget or don't want to spend a ton of money on home decor, I recommend checking out places like Walmart and Dollar Tree. They have a ton of cute pieces that are very budget-friendly and look just as lovely!

So, I don't know about you guys, but I love decorating my coffee table for the holidays/seasons. Does anyone else do this? If I don't have any decor on it, I feel like it's too dull for my taste. Something I like to do if I don't have a centerpiece is buying vase fillers to scatter around on the tray. I found these star ones at Hobby Lobby and couldn't pass them up. The fact that they sparkled may have swayed my decision just a bit ;). Anyways, I thought they added the perfect amount of color to the living room.

My kitchen and dining room area are usually my favorite spots to decorate. For our dining room table, I bought this red glass jar from Michaels to place artificial flowers in. I purchased the same jar in blue too for our family room downstairs, which I will talk about in a minute. The artificial flowers I bought from Michaels, and those in the red jar came with flags already in them. However, you could easily add your own in too to create the same look.

In the kitchen, I have two spots I usually like to put decor on. One is in the corner by the sink, where I put this light-up mason jar that I found at Michaels. I put it next to this sign that I also found at Michaels, and I love how pretty it looks at night when we turn the lights off. The second spot I like to put decor in is the middle counter. I wasn't sure what I wanted to put in this spot, but I ended up going to Target to check out their dollar spot, and I ended up finding these glitter USA letters for only $5! I ended up placing the letters between these two jars that I found at Michaels. Then, I put some picks I found at Hobby Lobby in the jars to make it look like fireworks. I LOVE how this turned out! Lastly, I just placed some cute decorative hand towels on the oven to tie everything together.

The last room I added some decor in was our family room. We are still putting this room together, so stay tuned for future posts to see how I decorate this room! I opted to do just a centerpiece for the coffee table down there. I took a blue jar (the same one in the kitchen) and threw some red, white, and blue artificial flowers in it. Super simple, but the colors popped against the neutral-colored furniture :)

I hope this gives all of you some inspiration on different ways you can incorporate red, white, and blue into your home. Stay tuned for my post next week where I will be sharing how to make a fun and "sparkly" patriotic cake! :)

Love, Brandi
