Railing/Mailbox Makeover
Hey friends!
I hope you are all having a fabulous week so far! Today, I am very excited to finally be sharing a couple of projects we have been working on this Summer! Last Fall, we lost the front door to our mailbox. It had been loose for some time, and I remember we had a bad storm one night. By the morning, it was gone. We searched up and down the street to no avail. You would have thought that we would have bought our new mailbox then, but Kent was determined we could wait until Spring :)
Therefore, he decided to remove the back and place that in the front. He then took black duct tape and covered the back entirely so our mail wouldn’t fly out. It looked horrendous! Haha! It did the trick, and once Spring hit, we decided to bite the bullet and purchased this beautiful white mailbox! I’ll insert a pic below! One of my favorite features is the chain-linked sign that hangs below with the house numbers. I think this is darling! I wish I had remembered to take a picture of our old mailbox before we took it down. We previously had one of the plastic ones in black.
Our next project this Summer was to replace our railing in the front. It was about ready to fall over when we moved in, but we put off replacing it for a long time. Initially, we planned to get another metal one like the one we had previously. However, while shopping, we saw the white railing and couldn’t pass it up! It matched the mailbox and our rain gutters perfectly. We’ve also really come to love pairing white with the color of our siding, which is a bluish-grey color. The white pops against the house, and I love it! Below are pictures of the railing before and after.
Comment below and let me know what you think of our latest makeovers! As always, I hope this post gives you some inspiration to tackle some of your home projects too! :)
Love, Brandi
