How to Decorate Your Porch for Fall

Hey friends!

How are you guys doing? I'm pumped that it's already Wednesday! The holiday on Monday made for a short week, and I'm all for it! Today, in my Fall series, I am sharing 5 ways to decorate your front porch for Fall! Unfortunately, I don’t have much of a porch, but I hope to someday! Anyway, I thought it would be fun to share how I would decorate one if I did have more space. Also, if any of you have larger porches, I hope this post gives you ideas if you are stuck on how to decorate for the new season. Let’s go ahead and get started!

Fall Wreaths

Adding a seasonal wreath is the perfect option for any porch! It’s a great option if you’re like me and don’t have a lot of space. Adding a wreath makes your home look festive, and you could even make your own! I also really love the scarecrows in this picture. It is another great idea if you’re struggling with space. Add something linear like scarecrows or a welcome sign that can lean up against the house.

PUMPKINS

Would it be a Fall porch without pumpkins? :) This is something I always try to do with our porch! I love going to the pumpkin patch and picking out pumpkins to use for decoration! It is another idea that almost anyone should be able to do. In the picture above, I love how the pumpkins are in the corner. The added height from the hay bale pulls the display together nicely. It is likely the look I would go for on my porch. However, if you have more room, I would line the pumpkins along with the steps like in the picture below.

FALL PLANTS

How beautiful are these Fall mums?! If you are a plant lover, adding a Fall plant like these mums is a great way to add some extra color to your front porch! I’m a plant lover myself, so as Summer starts winding down, it’s bittersweet to see all the color fade away. However, these continue to give your home a pop of color as we go into the cooler months. Place some pumpkins around them like in the pic, and you’ll be all set!

GARLAND

Adding a Fall garland to your porch immediately transforms it into Fall. Again, you don’t necessarily need a big area to do this in either. If you noticed in the picture with all the pumpkins, the homeowner took some garland and wrapped it between the pumpkins. It is a great alternative if you don’t have anywhere to hang it, but if you do, I recommend wrapping it around the railing or hanging it above your doorway. Both are great and will be sure to turn heads.

LANTERNS

Last but certainly not least are lanterns. I am OBSESSED with this porch! I love how they incorporated them into their space. If you have room to do this, I would say go for it! In my opinion, lanterns instantly make a space feel cozy, which is what Fall is all about. From the outside, this home looks warm and inviting. The thing about the lanterns is that the possibilities are endless. You can decorate them with pumpkins and gourds or put flameless candles in them. Maybe even some pretty leaves. You really can’t go wrong with them!

Those are all the ideas I have for you today, friends. Again, I hope this got your creative juices flowing, and you feel inspired to decorate your front porch! Let me know in the comments which idea you liked best! :)

Thanks for reading.

Love, Brandi
