Happy Friday, friends!

Today, I’m excited to share a fun project I’ve been working on the last few days. If you’ve been following along on here, you’ll remember a while I shared that I was trying to figure out how to decorate the space above our kitchen cabinets. I’m happy to report that we finally have this completed! It took me a while to figure out how I wanted to decorate. Once I had my ideas, they started to come together. I will be sharing the reveal and that process in a post later this month. However, I wanted to give you all a sneak peek of the DIY wine bottle decor I did for this space. I had not intended on doing any DIYs, but once I saw an inspo pic on Pinterest, I was excited! To make these wine bottles, you are going to need the following supplies:

  • spray paint of your choosing

  • glass wine bottles

  • wooden craft letters

  • hot glue gun

  • any accessories of your choosing

To get started, you are first going to spray-paint your wine bottles. I wanted each bottle to look different, but you can make them all the same if you want a more uniform look. I chose black and gold because our kitchen is primarily black and beige. As you can see in the picture, I painted one bottle of all gold, one all black, and then did a little of both on the remaining two. I also spray-painted the wooden craft letters to coordinate with the bottle they were going on.

Let everything dry overnight. Now, here comes the fun part! Take whatever accessories you want and arrange them on the bottles. For mine, I bought bedazzled flower stickers, gold Christmas picks, and some gold twisted cord. The stickers were easy to put on, and I just placed them around the bottles like so. For the Christmas picks, I used a pair of wire clippers and cut the stems off. That way, I could use the pom pom part of it. Then, I just took some hot glue and glued them on. Next, I used some of the gold cord to make a bow on one. Another idea you could do is take the gold cord and wrap it around the top of another bottle. I thought about doing this but ended up not since I had painted one of the tops gold. Lastly, you need to hot glue the letters on, and then you’re done! I was happy with how mine turned out.

In the picture, you might notice one of the bottles is unpainted. I did this for a reason. It was the bottle of wine we received from our mortgage officer when we closed on our house. It’s sentimental to us, and we knew we wanted to incorporate it somehow. I decided to remove the back label but kept the front one. The front label had our names and closing date, and we didn’t want to remove it. The only problem is the label messed with our theme. To fix this, I decided to turn the bottle around and hot glued a wooden heart that I spray painted black and gold. It ended up being the perfect addition and went so well with the rest of the bottles!

I hope you guys liked this little DIY and you found some inspiration from it! Let me know in the comments what you think, and be sure to keep an eye out for the kitchen decor reveal coming later this month! :)
