Halloween 2020
Hey loves!
I hope all of you had a good Halloween! I know my husband Kent and I did! We had a small get-together with some of our closest friends. We made some food, had a few drinks around the bonfire, and played some games throughout the evening :)
Anyone that knows me knows I can be a little "extra" when it comes to parties, but that's just my personality. As my mother-in-law says, I am the "Hostess with the Mostess." For this get-together, I served a veggie tray and bacon-wrapped water chestnuts for appetizers. The bacon-wrapped water chestnuts are always a crowd pleaser! I had never heard of them until I met Kent. His family always makes them for family events, so I've started making them for different occasions and potlucks.
I also made chili and homemade cinnamon rolls. This is one of my favorite combos once the weather starts getting colder. I love how warm and cozy it makes me feel afterward. To top everything off, I made Halloween cookies for dessert and whipped up an alcoholic punch called "Witches Brew." I found the recipe on Pinterest, and it was super easy to make. All you need is vodka, cran-raspberry juice, grenadine, and a handful of blackberries for garnish. I received lots of compliments on it and will link the recipe down below. I forgot to mention I also made a few Jell-o shots and stuck gummy eyeballs in them to go with our spooky theme :)
What would Halloween be without costumes? Kent and I dressed up as Johnny Cash and June Carter, and I loved how our costumes turned out! The best part was I only had to buy my dress—everything else we already owned. I found the dress on Amazon for $30-$40. I will link it down below for those that are interested.
Did you guys dress up for Halloween? Let me know in the comments what you dressed up as and what you did for Halloween :)
Hope you are all doing well and staying safe. Stay tuned for all the holiday posts coming soon! :)
Love, Brandi
