Gardening Fun

Hey everyone!

Last weekend Kent and I ventured out to a garden center to find some flowers for our yard. We picked out some beautiful flowers, and I’m excited to share what we chose with all of you today! Gardening is a new activity for me, and I have a lot to learn still. Thankfully, Kent used to work in landscaping, so I usually ask him for advice when I’m unsure of what I’m doing (which is about 80% of the time, haha). However, I’ve really enjoyed learning, and I love how colorful our yard looks. It’s also another way to decorate your home for the season :)

In our front yard, we have some daylilies that were here before we moved in. I didn’t take a picture since we’re still waiting on them to bloom. However, we did pick up this wonderful sweet potato vine! I placed it on our front steps and am excited to watch it grow. I haven’t decided yet, but I’m thinking about going back and picking up a hibiscus plant to put next to the stairs by our garage. I bought one for my mother-in-law last year and loved the blooms on it!

For our deck, we potted some superbells, and then I spotted this gorgeous potted arrangement that I couldn’t pass up. The colors were stunning, and it also had some superbells mixed in, so I thought it would look lovely with the other two.

The last flowers we picked up were some marigolds for our bed in the backyard. The yellow and red are great because they help brighten things up and really stand out from afar.

What are some of your favorite flowers to pot or plant? Let me know in the comments. I hope you all enjoyed this post and took away some gardening inspiration for your homes! :)

Love, Brandi
