Date Night: Gingerbread Houses & Christmas Lights

Hey loves,

I had intended to complete my blogmas series last week, but life got a little hectic, and one of the ideas I had didn't exactly pan out the way I had hoped. However, I wanted to share a little about our date night that my husband and I had this past weekend. If you've followed me some time, you know that my husband and I do date night once a month. Since we are in the Christmas season, I thought it would be fun to build gingerbread houses! (fun fact: I have never done this before!) I found ours at Walmart for only $8, and they came with all the supplies. My only complaint was that the houses came prebuilt. You would think this would make things easier, but it actually made decorating the sides a lot harder. Nevertheless, we had fun with it :) I included some pictures below of the finished houses.

Later that evening, we went and got sushi and then headed to a drive-thru Christmas light display called "Santa's Rock N Lights." It was our first time going, and it was beautiful! The lights went with the music, which is always fun when looking at Christmas lights. If you go, you have to buy your tickets in advance to reserve a time slot. I would recommend getting there early too. Despite arriving 30 minutes early, we still ended up waiting in line for an hour and a half! Last year we went to Zoo Lights, a big light display our local zoo puts on. You're given 3D glasses to wear as you walk around the zoo looking at all the lights. Sadly, they canceled the event before I had a chance to buy any tickets. However, I did see the other day they are selling tickets again, but with the increase of Covid cases, I think we will be sitting out this year. There's always next year, though! Here are a few pictures I took of the Christmas light displays. If you're interested in seeing any of the videos I took, head on over to my Instagram @aprettylittlesparkle, and click on the highlight "Christmas 2020". Don't mind my husband's singing in the background ;)

I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into my life and are having a wonderful holiday season. Let me know in the comments if you've looked at any Christmas lights yet! :)

Love, Brandi
