Cozy Kitchen Decor

Hey friends!

I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend so far!

Kent and I went to the pumpkin patch and had a wonderful time. We picked out our pumpkins for pumpkin painting, along with some to decorate the front porch. I will be sharing that post and video next week! Today, I wanted to share a project I worked on in our home for a few months. If you have followed along for a while, you might remember I was looking to decorate the area above our kitchen cabinets. Our kitchen is primarily black and brown, and I knew whatever decor I found would need to go with that color scheme. The only thing we had up there before this project was a clock that I found from Walmart and LED lights that change colors.

I will be honest. I struggled with this project! I've never decorated this kind of space before, so I was unsure what I wanted to do. I searched on Pinterest for ideas and finally went to HomeGoods to see if I could find anything that caught my eye. HomeGoods was a success! I found a majority of the decor there! I see why people love this place so much!

I’m all about making sure our home feels cozy, and I think all of these pieces do just that! The first item I found was this gorgeous black and gold vase. I thought it was a great statement piece and brought the eye up. I could have left the vase empty, but I’ve grown a liking to pampas grass, so I added some to the vase. To go along with the vase, I found these candle holders that had the same design. I decided to put these off to the right of the vase with our “M” woodblock. To help the “M" stand out more, I bought a cake stand to give it some more height.

On the opposite wall, I placed the black and gold wine bottles I diyed. I made a whole blog post on this. If you want to recreate this look, I will link that post here. I loved how they turned out! To make it even cozier, I wrapped some white Christmas lights around them. Finally, to balance both sides out, I found these black and gold plates (also from HomeGoods) and set them in easels to display.

That is everything I have today, friends! I’m pleased with how it all turned out. However, my favorite part is when we turn the light off and turn on the LED lights. We usually do an orangey color because it looks the best with our decor, but I love how cozy it feels! :)

I hope you all enjoyed this post and got some inspiration from it. Don’t forget to comment below and let me know what you think! Thanks for reading! :)

Love, Brandi
