2021 Summer Recap
Hey friends!
I hope you are having a beautiful day. As I get older, I find the days go by in the blink of an eye. Adulthood comes with work, chores, taking care of children, bills, appointments, etc. The list goes on and on. However, no matter how hectic life gets, I’ve started making it a point to slow down more. I don’t want life to pass me by; I want to live in the moment and be present with my family/friends. With Summer coming to an end, I thought it would be fun to highlight some of my favorite memories I made this Summer.
RAILING & MAILBOX MAKEOVER
One of our home projects over the Summer was to replace our mailbox and railing. I was so excited to see this project come to life. It turned out better than I could have imagined. I’m happy we decided to do this, and it will be a good memory to look back on as time goes on.
OMAHA ZOO
Kent and I always enjoy going to the zoo. We were disappointed we couldn’t go last year. We had so much fun seeing all the new exhibits. We got some great shots of the animals, and for once, the weather was in our favor! :) This was also the first time I filmed one of our adventures. Filming snippets of our lives has been something I’ve wanted to do for a while. Plus, I think it will be a lot of fun to have these videos to look back on when we are old and grey :)
SWIMMING | BBQ’S | MINI GOLF
This Summer, Kent and I tried to fit in as many outdoor activities as we could! Swimming was one of them! This time of the year, we enjoy being by the pool and getting our tans on! ;) Kent and I were also able to host our very first BBQ for our family. I made all kinds of yummy food, and we had a grand ole time spending time with our loved ones. Kent and I love some friendly competition so we, of course, had to do mini-golf. He won, and I’m still salty about it. Haha, kidding!
SALTDOGS GAME | TIME WITH FRIENDS
Time with friends is always sweet. Especially after last year. We enjoyed a Saltdogs baseball game with our good friends Mark and Shelby. We finally got to meet their little girl, and I was over the moon about it! She is an absolute doll! I’m pretty sure meeting her increased my baby fever, haha. We did a double date with our friends Amber and Shea. We ended up going to a driving range to golf, and I learned a thing or two about swinging a golf club lol. It was not pretty at all. However, we had a lot of fun, and it was so good to see them! :) We also met up with some friends visiting from out of town and had a chill night just sharing stories and reminiscing about high school. Also, we got to meet a new furry friend that night named Bandit. Needless, to say he stole my heart instantaneously. I am now following a local puppy adoption agency on Instagram (shoutout to Deb for sending me the link!).
